The goal was to depict realistic scenarios that health workers might encounter while supporting patients at BC Cancer. To ease the delivery of complex and often sensitive topics, the visuals were designed with a soft and warm aesthetic that helps create a calm and approachable learning experience.

This project focused on creating animated videos that were both visually engaging and clear in their messaging. From concept to final animation, careful attention was paid to timing, performance, and storytelling to ensure the content was compelling and easy to follow.
Project Workflow
When developing this project, it was essential to balance the simplified, approachable character designs with the need for realistic and readable emotions. This ensured that the weight of advanced care planning came through clearly without losing the warmth of the presentation. All characters were created in Illustrator with these principles in mind, supporting both clarity and empathy in the final animations.
Animation was particularly important for this project. Given the sensitive subject matter, we ensured that facial expressions and body language accurately reflected what the characters were experiencing.
